Workout 6 Week 3
The sixth workout consists of the flexibility fitness component. Dynamic stretches are stretches done before workouts in order to improve blood flow, warm up muscles and prepare the body for activities. In this case, I did dynamic exercises before my walks/runs this week. I did 3 walks, but I did 4 stretching sessions as I did not record myself stretching outside, therefore, I re-recorded myself stretching inside to give an overview of my stretches this week. The stretches are from the YouTube channel Run Better with Ash and the video is called ''Pre Run Dynamic Stretch Warmup Routine''. The stretches would last between 10-15 minutes each.
Quick Summary:
Since I was preparing for a walk/jog/run, I would make sure I repeated those motions as much as possible during the stretches. I started the session with stretches that would affect my hip mobility (hip flexors). I then moved on to arm flexibility stretches to work on my shoulders and arms. I continued with stretches that focused on my knees, which worked out my quadriceps, hamstrings and calves. Then I finished off the session with dynamic stretching exercises that incorporated every muscles worked on in this workout.
